Ian Meachem
Ian Meachem joined MSC Cruises in August 2017 in the Port Operations department based in London, supporting the team in regards to the day to day port operations for the MSC Cruise fleet worldwide in terms of port information, berth information and port services.
As the MSC Cruises fleet has rapidly grown during his time in the company, he has been promoted through a number of positions until the Head of Technical Port Operations – overseeing all global technical assessments of ports prior to their visits and assisting the newbuilding departments on various operational considerations prior to construction. He has also been heavily involved in several large MSC events, such as the Qatar World Cup floating hotel project in 2022, which required years of preparation of coordination with various stakeholders.
Ian holds a Batchelor of Science degree in Marine Operations, and prior to joining MSC was a Deck Officer with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines for several years + a Navigational Specialist for the UK hydrographic office, producing numerous nautical products and services to the global maritime industry to ensure safety of navigation.
